Where they differ

  • Kalshi 'Before Apr 1, 2027' vs Polymarket 'by March 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET' are the same cutoff; Kalshi 'Before Jul 1, 2027' vs Polymarket 'June 30, 2027' likewise. Kalshi's timezone for 'before' is not stated, but the cutoff is effectively midnight at the turn of the date.
  • Kalshi relies on announcements reported by a Source Agency (own campaign or person only); Polymarket uses Ossoff's official statements with credible reporting consensus as a fallback. The sources could differ on borderline announcements.

  • Kalshi has additional outcomes (Before Jan 1, 2027 and Before Oct 1, 2027) that Polymarket lacks; they are not linked.
  • Kalshi rules text is truncated in the outcome-level rules, though the full text appears in the main rules.
  • Trading closes at different times: Apr 1, 2027, 3:59 AM UTC on Polymarket and Oct 1, 2027, 2:00 PM UTC on Kalshi.

About this market

Live prediction market odds for "Jon Ossoff announces a presidential run by...?". Before Oct 1, 2027 leads at 42%. Next is June 30, 2027 at 34.2%. $8K has traded across 4 outcomes on Kalshi and Polymarket. The market is expected to resolve by Apr 1, 2027.

This market will resolve to “Yes” if Jon Ossoff officially announces that they are running for U.S. President in the 2028 United States presidential election by the specified date, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. An announcement by Jon Ossoff will be sufficient to trigger a "Yes" resolution, regardless of whether they actually filed a nomination to run, or whether they actually file a nomination to run in the future. A qualifying announcement must be explicit and unambiguous. Conditional statements, or statements that are clearly sarcastic, made in jest, or immediately clarified as not being genuine will not count. The primary resolution source for this market will be official statements by Jon Ossoff (ex: via speech, social media, etc.), however a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Questions

What does the consensus price mean?

It is the price of a Yes contract that pays $1 if the outcome happens. A 14¢ price means traders put the chance near 14%. Where two venues list the same outcome, we blend their last prices, weighting the venue with more trading volume more heavily (neither counts for less than a quarter). When only one outcome can win, each venue’s prices add up to a little over 100% (its margin); the fair chance removes that margin so the outcomes add up to exactly 100%.

How is the payout worked out?

A Yes contract pays $1 if it wins, so at the best ask a $100 stake buys 100 ÷ ask contracts. At 18¢ that is about 555 contracts, paying $556 (5.56x) if Yes happens. Venue fees and price slippage on larger orders are not included.

Why do the venues show different prices?

Each venue has its own traders, fees and order book. Contracts can also settle on slightly different terms, which is why each row lists how closely the rules match.

Is a price gap an arbitrage?

Only when you can buy Yes on one venue below what someone pays for Yes on the other, after fees, and both contracts settle the same way. We show the executable bid and ask so you can check.

How fresh are these prices?

Venue prices refresh every few minutes, and the order book and live quotes stream continuously. Each venue’s card shows when we last observed it.
